We
depart from Quito early in the morning, driving
towards the east through the town of Papallacta
famous for its hot springs, and then down to the
Amazon town of Tena. From here we continue our
scenic drive on an old road that winds through
the eastern slopes of the Andes, where we will
settle into a friendly Quechua campsite on a
beach by the river gorge. Afterwards, you may
take a swim in the natural river pools which are
a twenty minute walk away. |
