Baños is a town of about 17,000 inhabitants and is also called
"La puerta del Oriente" - "The door to the jungle". It is surrounded by green
hills and its climate is very pleasant. As it is an exellent base for trekking and
excursions to the jungle it is popular with both, Ecuadorian and foreign
visitors. Plus Baños offers a lot as a city itself: you can take a bath in the hot springs,
sit and relax in outdoor cafes, visit the basilica or take a look at the famous
waterfall called "Manto de la Virgen" at the southeast end of town.
We would like to invite you to our comfortable hostal "Isla de Baños" that
is situated at the outskirts of town. We offer mountain biking and jeep tours
in the area and our house is an excellent starting point for other day-trips.
And maybe you have never done horse riding before, but always wanted to try it.
