Jungle Lodges in Ecuador: La Selva Lodge
Day 01.- | Morning Flight from Quito to Coca. By motorised canoe trip in the Napo river of two hours to la Selva Jungle Lodge. Storage of the valuables in the hotel safe. Change in to field clothes if desired. In the afternoon walk to your first Campsite. Your introduction to the Jungle begins 100 paces past the Lodge and what better way to begin that with a visit to la Selva’s 135-foot high Canopy observation tower. |
Day 02.- | Today we walk for about 8 hours at the leisurely pace. We will leave at daybreak, spend the Day strolling through paradise and Arrive at camp for a swim before cocktails. The walk has taken us through virgin forest on more or less level ground. We took a Pic-nic lunch and saw more things than we could absorb. We arrived at one of the most beautiful lakes in the whole Amazon Basing. “Challuacocha” little is known about this previously inaccessible lake - even by the natives- and many believe that it is enchanted. We think so too. |
Day 03.- | No need for a “bailout” here. We will begin the Day with an early morning Look at about million parrots and other birds, right around our lake. Then take a foray or two into the surrounding Jungle. After lunch we will teach you a bit of native handicrafts, show you how it is done - and you can even try your own. Swimming and learning how to paddle dugout canoes. |
Day 04.- | After breakfast we leave the lodge and drive the Rio Napo uper stream to Coca and by plane to Quito, where we will Arrive in the afternoon. |
