Day 01.-

Between Quito and Riobamba you travel by coach along the Pan-American. Flanked by a dozen of the highest snow-capped peaks in the western hemisphere it is known as the Avenue of the Volcanoes. Enjoy breakfast at a colonial hacienda and visit an Indian market, then continue through this volcanic avenue towards Baños, the gateway to the Amazon jungle. Lunch at one of the hotels and brief visit of Baños.
Then onto Riobamba for a short tour of the city. Dinner and overnight at the hotel Abraspungo or a similar establishment.

Day 02.-

After an early breakfast transfer to the train station to board the auto Ferro or train for a scenic ride down the Devil’s Nose to Alausí. Passengers will disembark in Chanchan and continue by car to Ingapirca to visit the famous ruins. Following we drive to Cuenca (picnic lunch will be served en-route). Arrival in Cuenca for dinner and overnight at the hotels Oro Verde, El Dorado or a similar establishment.

Day 03.- Full day excursion to visit colonial Cuenca, San Joaquin and Baños del Azuay. Lunch will be served during the excursion. Dinner and overnight at a hotel in Cuenca.
Day 04.-

In the morning we visit Chordeleg. We will have lunch in the valley in the afternoon. Then transfer to the airport for the flight back to Quito. (Air ticket included.)

Train to Alausi

Departure time: 8:30 am

What to bring with you: Sun glasses, sun block, rain wear, warm clothes, torch, hat, Trekking shoes, warm clothing, camera and film (100 ASA).
