Baños

Salasaca market in the way, between Ambato and Baños.

Baños a place to relax and soak in the hot baths! Dancing at Bambus; Eat at El Higueron; Stay at Hotel Isla de Baños.

DAY 2:

Baños

Misahualli

Visit the Zoo in Baños. La Cascada de la Virgen is quite impresive.

Sit on the right hand side of the vehicle.

DAY 3:

Misahualli

Papallacta

Misahualli is in the middle of the Jungle.

You won't see many animals in the jungle, but just soaking in the environment is worth it!!

DAY 4:

Papallacta

Quito

The Papallacta thermal baths, high in the mountains before descending to Quito, is the best in South America. Judge for yourself!

Try eating Trout, cheap and tasty. If you're lucky you'll get a glipse of the glacier-peaked Antisana while soaking your worries away.

Baños

Salasaca market in the way, between Ambato and Baños.

Baños a place to relax and soak in the hot baths! Dancing at Bambus; Eat at El Higueron; Stay at Hotel Isla de Baños.

DAY 2:

Baños

Sucua

Visit the Zoo in Baños. La Cascada de la Virgen is quite impresive.

Before Sucua you will stop in Macas, a nice place to spend a half day visiting the centre and main church.

DAY 3:

Sucua

Cuenca

It will take you 8 hours trip to reach Cuenca, we recommend you go during the day, passing through the Ecuadorian jungle.

An Amazing trip that you will never forget, not very many forigners make this unique trip!

From Cuenca you can either go back to Quito (Route 4) or just continue to the south following the routes 7, 8 (leading to Peru's border), 9, 10 or 11.

Vilcabamba

Stop and see the Saraguros indiginous ancestral village on the way.

You will pass through Loja, not much to see but easy bus link to Vilcabamba.

DAY 2:

Vilcabamba

Macara

Vilcabamba is a nice place to relax, go horse riding and walking. Podocarpus National Park, lots of lakes.

Easy and nice way to go into Peru.

From Macara you can cross to Peru.

DAY 1:

Cuenca

Machala

Once in Machala you must go to the nice Jambeli beach, 45 minutes from Machala by boat.

Sit on the left side of the vehicle, the canyon that takes you to the lowlands is breath-taking!

DAY 2:

Machala

Puyango

Puyango one of Ecuador's best-kept secrets; one of the biggest petrified forest in the world. Take a tent with you.

Trip will take 2 hours top and the ride is like going back through the past.

DAY 3: Puyango Macara Try to go on the old road to Macara passing throught Alamor. This part of Ecuador is rarely visited, and is undoubtedly the best part of southern Ecuador.

From Macara you can cross into Peru.
